Hargobind Foundation International Travelling Fellowship

  Applications are invited for the Hargobind Foundation International Traveling Fellowship for the year 2009.
  1. This fellowship is meant to be utilized at the Solihully Hospital, Birmingham, U.K.
  2. The application should contain a complete bio-data of the candidate, highlighting the contributions made by him/her to teaching & research in the field of colorectal surgery.
  3. The applicant should be a member of ACRSI. Preference will be given to members who have been awarded the fellowship of ACRSI.
  4. The fellowship is primarily intended to promote surgical learning in the field of colo-rectal surgery. The selected candidate will undergo 4 weeks of observer’s post, rotating in all departments of colorectal surgery. He/ she is further expected to use this training to impart knowledge to fellow members. He/she is also expected to actively participate in the activities of ACRSI.
  5. He/She should complete his/her visit before 31st July 2009 and submit his report to the Hon. Secretary of ACRSI along with a certificate from the Head of the Institution before 31st July, 2009.
  6. The fellowship consists of a grant of US$ 2000/-, which would essentially cover the airfare & the cost of local stay. All other expenses other than the mentioned grant would have to be borne by the candidate himself/herself.
  7. Obtaining a U.K. visa is the sole responsibility of the selected candidate. The Association is not responsible for it, although it would help by providing supporting documents for the visa.
  8. 4 copies of the application along with relevant enclosures, including copy of the passport, should reach the Hon. Secretary of ACRSI by 30th November, 2008.
  9. The selection of candidate would be done by a duly appointed committee of ACRSI & Hargobind Foundation & its decision shall be final & binding.
  10. The candidate will have to travel to Mumbai to appear for an interview at his/her own cost. The date, venue & time of interview will be intimated to the candidate at least a week earlier. Receiving a call for interview does not guarantee granting of the fellowship.
  11. If no suitable candidate is found for a particular year, no fellowship would be awarded that year.
  12. A certificate would be presented to the candidate during the Inauguration ceremony of the National (Mid-term) Conference of ACRSI. The candidate will have a make a brief presentation regarding his/her fellowship during the same congress

Zydus Alidac International Traveling Fellowship of ACRSI -2008 & 2009

  Applications are invited for the Zydus Alidac International Traveling Fellowship for the year 2008 & 2009 - two applications for each year
  1. This fellowship is meant to be utilized abroad at a pre-selected centre
  2. The application should contain a complete bio-data of the candidate, highlighting the contributions made by him/her to teaching & research in the field of colorectal surgery.
  3. The applicant should be a member of ACRSI. Preference will be given to members who have been awarded the fellowship of ACRSI.
  4. The fellowship is primarily intended to promote surgical learning in the field of colo-rectal surgery. The selected candidate will undergo 4 weeks of observer’s post, rotating in all departments of colorectal surgery. He/ she is further expected to use this training to impart knowledge to fellow members. He/she is also expected to actively participate in the activities of ACRSI.
  5. He/She should complete his/her visit before 30th October 2008 & 31st July 2009 respectively and submit his report to the Hon. Secretary of ACRSI along with a certificate from the Head of the Institution before 30th October & 31st July, 2009 respectively.
  6. The fellowship consists of a grant of Rs50,000/- each & the airfare. All other expenses other than the mentioned grant would have to be borne by the candidate himself/herself.
